The two photos represent weight loss in a before and after photo.  The sad news is I am back looking like this before photo again.

 

BEFORE

My original weight loss process began in September of 2009.  Over the course of nine months I lost 22 pounds.

AFTER

Between August of 2010 and June 2014 I gained 30 pounds.  Yes, that is more than I weighed in the BEFOE photo you see above.

On May 22, 2014 I embarked on a new weight loss plan.  I needed to find something other than Weight Watchers.

Weight Watchers lets you eat whatever you want.  Weight Watchers makes it appear that all foods are created equal. We know they are not, but when a weight loss plan says it’s okay to eat cake as long as you count the points, you eat cake, count the points, and keep eating cake.

This new weight loss plan is based on the ketosis type of meal plan.  What does that mean exactly?  It’s a low carb weight loss plan. No sugar, which includes honey and agave.  No grains, such as rice, no baked goods and no starchy vegetables.  My plan consists of 10 boxes of protein.  That component is 7 to 10 grams of protein; 5 or less grams of fat per 100 calories per box.  Four boxes of carbohydrates that consist of 7 to 15 grams of carbs with little or no fat per box.

I learned that you should never eat carbs without eating a protein too.  Even the good carbs that are found in fruits and vegetables should be consumed with protein.  If you eat a peach, you better add 10 almonds with it.

I am allowed 2 serving of fruit a day and 8 ounces of milk.

I also must consume 100 ounces of beverages; 60 which should be water, per day.

Is this easy?  Oh how I wish it was.  As of this post, I have not had any refined sugar, including honey, baked goods, grains, like rice, at all.  The count is 30 days and going strong.

Slow weight loss, yes.  But no weight gains or weighing the same.  It’s all downhill so far.

I will continue to update my progress until I am at goal.

    • Thank you Sree. I have gained half of it back, but working on losing it again. As a matter of fact, I just got off the treadmill. 1.4 miles.

  4. 13 pounds in 30 days is not slow weight loss. Congrats on finding something that works for you. Of course, I thought you were beautiful before too.

    • Thanks Jen. You are right. My nutritionist told me that I am right on point for the average amount of weight loss per week of a female in my age range. I haven’t felt this good about my wight in over two years.

    Just like you, I put on a lot of weight over the years, and am now compelled to lose it. Not easy, when cooking for family and friends!
    I would definitely like to hear more from you, as I don’t quite understand what you mean by “box”. Is that a unit of weight, of volume?

    • Thanks for stopping by. Yes, it’s a challenge to lose the weight, but I am bound and determined. The boxes are part of the program that I am currently on. Each box represents 8-10 grams of protein. The carb boxes work the same way. Each person’s boxes depend on their weight loss progam, which is actually based on your whole body composition.
