This Brandy Peach Lemonade is a refreshing cocktail that will help you beat the heat this summer.
- 2 1/2 cups water
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 2 peeled peaches, chopped
- 1 cup brandy
- 1 cup fresh lemon juice
- Combine first 3 ingredients in a medium saucepan over medium-high heat; bring to a boil. Reduce heat, and simmer 10 minutes, stirring occasionally. Remove from heat; transfer to a bowl set over ice water, and cool to room temperature. Transfer peach mixture to a blender; process until smooth. Combine peach mixture, brandy, and lemon juice; serve over ice.

I whipped up this concoction with a few of the left over peaches I acquired at the local farmer’s market. I thought of my mom as I perused the market and spotted white peaches. Mom always told me that white peaches were better than yellow. To this day, I naturally reach for the white ones. I discovered that yellow peaches are a tad bit more acidic than the white ones. It turns out that white peaches taste sweet no matter if they are firm or soft. You see, this is why you should always listen to your mom.
The best parts of summer are ice-cold lemonade and fresh picked peaches. Add a bit of brandy and you now have a grown up refreshing cocktail.
I know a lot of people don’t like the fuzz on the peaches. Did you know that if you dip them in boiling water for about 10 seconds, the skin will peel right off? Yup, its’ true. I tried it and it actually works. You don’t need to peel them for this recipe since you are pulverizing it in a blender and hey, added fiber is a good thigh right?
