The talk of the town is this refreshingly Iced Mint Coffee which is irresistibly delicious.
- 6 to 8 ounces fresh brewed strong coffee
- 1/4 cup cream (I used 2% milk)
- 6 to 8 mint leafs
- 1 to 2 teaspoons sugar
- In a tall glass, muddle the sugar and the mint.
- Add the crushed ice, the coffee and the milk or cream. Top with a sprig of mint.
I am a late bloomer. Well sort of anyway. I seem to hear about food trends long after they are food trends. Or perhaps I am ignorant of certain food trends and then jump on the band wagon too late.
I have a funny feeling that is what happened with this mint iced coffee trend.
A co-worker told me about a coffee shop in San Francisco called Philz. He told me they serve an Iced Mint Mojito Coffee. It didn’t sound appealing to me, but hey, I am a willing participant so I whipped up a cup of this magic juice and I am hooked. Hooked I tell ya.
Come on peeps you need to tell me about these food crazes sooner rather than later. But the good news is at the 2014 Fancy Food Show in San Francisco, mint is still trending. Oh and so is Sriracha. But we know why sriracha is trending don’t we.
So let’s stick with the mint trend. I have a feeling many mint recipes will be appearing here soon.
