It’s time to fill the cookie jar again. This month Cynthia from Feeding Big has chosen Halloween as her theme.
It’s after midnight, and the moon is aligning with Mars, and peace will guide the planet and scary things will start to happen. Stories, of hauntings begin to emerge.
Halloween. What does it really mean? All Hallow’s Eve. The celebration of remembering the dead!
When my girls were little I loved Halloween. I enjoyed taking them “trick or treating” and loved watching them pick out a costume every year. But nowadays, both the hubby and I don’t care for it so much. Don’t think I am a Grinch or anything, but we don’t hand out candy to the kids in the neighborhood. Not many even come down our street anymore. Especially since I don’t have a sidewalk on my side of the street. All we end up with are the kids that are too old to be trick or treating. And to me, over twelve is too old for trick or treating.
But in the spirit of the “holiday”, I made Raw Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Bites.
No poisonous potions were used in the making of these treats.
- 1 cup quick oats (pulsed in the blender a bit)
- ¼ cup chocolate chips
- ¼ teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon pumpkin pie spice
- 1/2 teaspoon chinnamon
- 1 cup canned pumpkin
- 1 Tablespoon coconut oil
- ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 tablespoons honey
- Combine all the dry ingredients. Mix in the wet ingredients and roll into balls. Serve or refrigerate them for later consumption.
The good news is that since I am part of the #FillTheCookeJar group, you will get to see many other Halloween themed cookies that you can create just in time for your trick or treaters.
Just remember to Keep Calm and Scary on!
