Sometimes baking can be intimidating for people. Sometimes, we just don’t have the time to make a dessert that would “wow” our guests. Sometimes it okay to take the easy way out. And as Sandra Lee says “There is nothing wrong with Semi-Homemade.
The next time you need a short cut for a dessert recipe. Try my White Chocolate Dipped Madelines.
My store-bought Madelines from Fresh & Easy were 70 calories each. I bought them because I also bought the hubby some lemon pound cake. I knew that if I saw him eating that pound cake that I would want some. But having one Madeline at 70 calories is far better than one slice of that Lemon pound cake that had a vanilla frosting on top.
I will apologize ahead of time as I didn’t factor in how much colored sugar I used and I don’t want to guess at the PP values. but I used 2 ounces of white chocolate for all 8 cookies.
- 8 store-bought Madeline cookies
- 2 ounces (4 squares) white chocolate
- colored sugar
- Melt the chocolate in the microwave for about 1 to 1½ minutes. Start with 30 to 45 second intervals until the chocolate is completely melted.
- Dip the cookie into the melted chocolate and then into the colored sugar.
They will brighten up your dessert table and no one will need to know the cookies were store-bought.
Surprise your Valentine with these and they will think you are a gourmet.
What other types of cookies can you think of that can be dipped and decorated?
Thanks for stopping by.
