French Dip Sandwich

Right along with the theme of cook what you got, I grilled a trip tip the other night so the boys could have it before they went to the Warriors Basketball game.

Last night, we had Classic French Dip sandwiches.

I sliced up the trip tip real thin.

I made this Au Jus (recipe below) to dip the bread into.  If you don’t have any leftovers, you can use store-bought deli meat.

The secret ingredient that packs this Au Jus with flavor is Kitchen Bouquet.

Ingredients

10 PP per sandwich

  • 1 cube of beef bullion
  • 2 tablespoons sherry
  • 1 tablespoon Kitchen Bouquet™
  • fresh ground pepper
  • 4 French rolls
  • 12 ounces left over trip tip beef

In a small saucepan add the beef bullion cube and 2/3 cup water.  Let the cube dissolve over a medium high heat.

Add the sherry and the pepper.

Bring to a boil. Add the Kitchen Bouquet.

Dip the trip tip into the au jus and serve on a toasted french roll

Let’s just say we can’t stop talking about how great these turned out.The best part was using the leftover trip tip.  When was the last time you had a French Dip Sandwich?  It had been many years for me.  I can guarantee you, we will be having it again real soon.
