Emmy Winning Recipes

The Primetime Emmy’s were on last night.  Did any of you watch it? I am not one to watch all of that stuff.  I know what I like regardless if it is “Emmy” worthy or not.

It made me think of what would Emmy Winning Recipes look like.  I noticed that most of the popular pin’s on Pinterest in the Food category are visually delicious.  And of course, generally not so healthy.  What is trending on Pinterest right now?

Pumpkin seems to be trending.  271 pins for someone’s baked pumpkin spice donuts.  A baked donut is definitely better than a fried donut, but still not a healthy choice.

An incredibly beautifully decorated cake with ice cream cones on the outside and filled with frosting has 1391 pins. Definitely not healthy.

I wonder if pinning is more about timing?  Anyway, sometimes I think I made a “Emmy” winning dish.  I post pictures and write about how much I loved it. Yet, not many people seem to even notice!

What I have to share with you is definitely “Emmy worthy” to me.

I bought Rocco Di Spirito’s Now Eat This Italian cookbook.  It’s an incredible cookbook, worthy of the price.  It’s huge and over an inch thick, filled with great recipes and some incredible food photography.

Order it here.

I want to share Rocco’s secret Super Olive Oil recipe.

But, due to copywrite restrictions, I can’t.  But I will tell you the list of ingredients.  GO OUT AND BUY HIS BOOK.  This is not a paid advertisement.  It’s just a great book.  Oh did I mention all the recipes are under 350 calories?

Super olive oil is not meant for cooking, but as a replacement for salad dressings or to finish seasoning a completed dish.

1 Tablespoon of Olive oil = 14 grams of fat and 120 calories

1 Tablespoon of Super Olive Oil = 3 grams of fat and 28 calories.

The components consist of water, olive juice such as Marzetta garlic stuffed olives, olive oil and xanthan gum.

You do need a blender to concoct this scientific recipe, but I made a batch and will be using it as a replacement for my salad dressings in the future.

Now Eat This cookbook is waiting for you to buy it.  Pronto!
