Flashback Friday

Yes, another Flashback Friday.  This weekend happens to be our wedding anniversary.  We are celebrating six wonderful years of marriage.  It seems like so much has happened in the last six years.  I survived breast cancer!  Sent four kids to college, lost my job of 31 years, found a great job the past two years, bought cars for all the children (no wonder I am in the poor house).  Seriously, I am surrounded by lots of love and happiness.  The hubby is the kindest, most generous and most patient person I have ever met.  We manage to survive though all the trials and tribulations of having 4 children in our blended family.  We have helped them out through all their ups and downs and feel very blessed to have our health and happiness.

So we are off to the Napa Valley tomorrow.

First stop will be Domaine Carneros, to sip on champagne and munch on a charcuterie platter in the Club Room out on the terrace for Chateau Society members only. (Aren’t we special!)

Then off to dinner at the Fish Story in down town Napa. We have never been to this restaurant but it is part of the Lark Creek Group and we love the Yankee Pier restaurant so I am sure this will be a winner too.   I just could not believe there was a restaurant named “The Fish Story”.  I say that because, the hubby, who loves to tell stories, loves to embellish them as well.  I have told him over the years that he is always telling Fish Stories.  The funny thing is they are all true stories, just a few of them are a bit embellished.  I want to get him to watch the movie called the Big Fish because it totally reminds me of him.  If you haven’t watched it, put it in your queue.

So, lets Flash back to one year ago today and see what I wrote about on my blog.

MUSHROOM RISOTTO – MALTESE STYLE  Enjoy this great recipe.  It was so delicious, I want to make it again, but I guess I have to wait for when the hubby is not home since you all know how much he loves mushrooms.

Enjoy your weekend, make my risotto and tell me what you think.  I will be enjoying our anniversary weekend in the wine country.
