First things first, The winner of the OXO Salad Dressing shaker is
Now, this whole meatza thing got started at the local Fitbloggin meetup held at my home on April 21. Deb, brought a Greek Meatza and it was the talk of the town. Then Marisol, made a vegetable version which looked out of this world. I knew then that I must make one, and soon. I decided to make mine half veggie and half pepperoni. The pepperoni half for the hubby and the veggie portion for little ole me. After I was done, would you believe Sarah made one too! Now if four people out of five made this all in the same week, it must be good. Oh and the fifth person, she’s a vegetarian.
The recipe below is without the pepperoni’s.
5 PP if cut into 12 pieces
- 1 lb 93/7 ground beef
- 8 ounces turkey sausage
- 1 egg
- 1/4 cup pizza sauce
- 1/4 cup reduced fat mozzarella cheese
- 1 tablespoon parmesan cheese
- cherry tomatoes, sliced in half
- baby bellas, chopped
- fresh baby spinach leafs, chopped
- 1 shallot, thinly sliced
Preheat oven to 350
Combine beef, sausage, and egg in a bowl.
In a baking sheet, spread meat crust in a thin layer and form an edge around it.
Place in oven and bake for about 10 minutes. It will shrink A LOT.
Remove from oven. Drain all the grease from the pan.
Spoon the sauce on top of the meat crust. Next, sprinkle the parmesan cheese on top of the sauce.
Add the tomatoes. Top with Mozzarella cheese, add the mushrooms and the spinach.
Broil for about 10 minutes.
The picture shows two slices for 10 PP.
Oh the next giveaway will be ONE CASE of assorted Chobani Yogurt to one lucky winner.
